Life could chew you up and spit you out: Saif
Saif Ali Khan has acted in multiple films in his career spanning over two decades. But the actor has always maintained that he has a life beyond the movies. He is known to have managed the work-life balance well over the years. Saif has also abstained from signing up on the social media platform. Talking about the importance of striking the right balance between professional and personal life, the actor says, “This is the place where you work and you get out, and live your life elsewhere. Otherwise, it will chew you up and spit you out, and you won’t even know what happened. You will be miserable.”
He adds, “I have a life away from films, just like my parents. My happiness is not based here [in the movies]. I don’t have too many friends, because that is not what I came here to do. I love working here. May be I will attend some parties that I want to for some of the wonderful people I know. Otherwise, I give a lot of importance to my personal life because that will stay. And, I’ve got to enjoy it as well. It could all end tomorrow. I don’t want to have not done anything or not gone anywhere. Life goes by pretty fast.”
So, in this phase of his life, does he wish to pursue any interest or hone a skill? “I enjoy reading and travelling. And I just want to finish learning French properly. I’ve been struggling with that for about ten years, of speaking bad French (laughs),” says Saif, who has always wanted to speak “one European language”.
