Singer Jubin Nautiyal loves his job, and it’s not a surprise as the 28-year-old nurtured the dream of becoming a musician ever since he was a child and never thought of doing anything else.

“I always knew I will be here. When I was younger, I had chosen music as my subject, because that’s the only thing I really wanted to do. I don’t think I would have done anything else apart from becoming a musician,” says Jubin.

Talking about how he trained himself to be a musician, he shares, “I have worked hard everyday and travelled across the country to learn different forms of music. Even if I wasn’t as famous or as prolific a singer that I am lucky to have become, I would still be doing the same thing, because that’s the only thing I really know.”

In a short span of four years, Jubin, who has sung hits such as The Humma Song (OK Jaanu; 2017) and Ik Vaari Aa (Raabta; 2017), has amassed a huge fanbase. The Dehradun-born singer feels humbled, and recalls one of the craziest fan moments.

“I know I have made a lot of fans in a very short span of time. I can feel the love and blessings I get from my fans when I am working. So, I don’t have one moment but many of them, where I feel blessed to be loved and adored so much. But there was this one crazy incident that I still haven’t forgotten,” he quips.

“A few years ago, there was a girl at a concert who kept crying throughout. I didn’t know the reason, but after the concert was over, she came to meet me backstage. When she saw me, she started crying even harder. It was because she could not believe she was looking at me. That made me realise how our work affects the lives of so many people. They smile, cry, and dance to what we do, and I’m really lucky because it is due to them that I get to do what I love,” he shares.
