Pak industry supports Ali Zafar
Pakistani actor-singer Meesha Shafi’s “sexual harassment of a physical nature” allegation against Ali Zafar has been the talk of the town since she broke the news on Twitter on April 19. However, Ali denied the allegation.
Many from the Pakistani film industry such as modelVJ-actor Maya Ali, modelsinger Aqsa Ali, actor Resham, and PR professional Fareshteh Aslam, support Ali.
Meesha’s former manager, Fahad Rehman wrote on Facebook: “...I don’t know what happened between Ali and her... Without hard evidence, I would take everything she says with a ton of salt...”
Aqsa, an eye witness of the jam session with Ali at his studio in Lahore, last year, which Meesha referred to in her claims, told India Today TV, “I was present when the so-called incident happened, with 10 other musicians... Meesha has made up the entire story. I don’t know if she had a personal vendetta... but the allegations on Ali are wrong.”
Meanwhile, there is no dearth of support for Meesha either. While Pakistani singer Momina Mustehsan wrote on Twitter, “Still waiting for u to respond @AliZafarsays. Do u think u have ever, knowingly or unknowingly, violated a woman in any way or form?”, American actor-author, Rose McGowan also tweeted her support, “A heroine for our times. I stand with Meesha Shafi.”
I have been working with him since 1 year... and I never ever got any kind of that vibe from him... I respect this man @ali_zafar and want the truth to come out.

I don’t think there’s any truth to the harassment allegations… I’ve known Ali... for many years. I’ve never heard any such allegations against him.
