Katrina’s reach is far and wide, shows study
It goes without saying that she is one of the most popular female stars across the country. But earlier this year, a study came up with an interesting result: Katrina Kaif is also the most popular Bollywood heroine outside India. The study by a video-ondemand streaming platform found that after Katrina, other female Bollywood actors such as Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kajol are on the list. Asked about it, Katrina says, “Of course, it feels amazing to have the audience’s support as it’s really crucial for any actor. It’s very important that your films are seen [by everyone]. Also, it’s a great feeling to know that such a wide audience is watching our films. As far as I am concerned, I am extremely happy that I have that connect with Indian as well as overseas audiences.”
Even when it comes to brand endorsements, Katrina is considered to be among the busiest Bollywood stars. She is the face of eight top-of-the-line brands and sources close to her inform that she has been signed for two more brands. “In an ad film, you don’t have a character, so you have a lot of fun. I like being around people and working in those [fun] spaces. As an artist, I am having a really good time. Also, endorsements have always been very important in an actor’s career,” she says.
The Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) actor admits that of late, she has “returned to a space wherein I am happy and enjoy being on the set, be it films or ad films”. She adds, “Right now, more than anything, I love the fact that I am working. Even in that space [of brand films], I always try to do something interesting, and add something to it.”
Of course, it feels amazing to have the audience’s support as it’s really crucial for any actor.
