FRIDAY JAM CITY'S BIGGEST MUSICAL EVENT IS BACK
DelhiNCR’s biggest music festival Friday Jam is back with its fifth season and this time, the celebrations are even more exciting
Music is the strongest form of magic, said singer Marilyn Manson and this magic has been unfolding every Friday for the past four seasons of Friday Jam.
And, tonight, Friday Jam is all set to kickstart season 5 with more fun, music and masti in the presence of Veere Di Wedding actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. That’s not all, adding some Punjabi tadka, singer-songwriter Guru Randhawa will make everyone dance to his numbers.
“With unforgettable evenings of power-packed performances, Fridays in Gurugram have never been
the same for city folks, since its inception four years back. Every week, it gave the young corporate crowds and families a place to unwind. I’m thrilled that it’s back,” says Vidhi Arora, an IT professional.
Celebrating music for the next six weeks, every Friday, Hindustan Times DLF Cyber Hub Friday Jam Season 5, powered by Too Yumm and Nearbuy.com promises to go a notch higher this season.
Dance away to glory as Guru Randhawa belts out hits like O Tenu Suit Suit kar da, Ban Ja Meri Rani and Patola at the opening night. “I’ll make sure log groove karein. Music is everything to me. It’s been a long time that I’ve not performed in Gurugram. It’ll be great to hang out there. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll be playing all the favourite tunes,” says Randhawa, who expects the audience to join him in singing. “Live performances are great when the audience sings along with you. I’ve been performing for long and it’s easy for me to sing create a connect with the crowd,” says Randhawa.
This season’s line-up includes artists of various genres such as fusion-rock, Indian-pop and Bollywood. Music lovers can look forward to performances by Indian Ocean on June 1, Euphoria on June 8, Nasya on June 15, Tarkash on June 22, Bismil and singer Neha Kakkar on June 29. And, how can Friday Jam be complete without a dose of laughter, right? Stand-up comedy acts are lined up, too, to make you split your sides.
Atul Sharma, a corporate professional from the city, says, “I’m excited for this season of Friday Jam. Singing is my passion and getting an opportunity to witness live acts by amazing singers is a delight. It’s a great way to unwind after a busy day at work. I’ll definitely be there, every Friday. I hear that there are stand-up comedy gigs planned, too. So, I told my family that every Friday, I’ll pick them after office and Cyber Hub will be our hub.”
