FRIDAY JAM DECLARED OPEN WITH THE STARS
Star power, musical fervour and funny antics ruled the opening of Friday Jam at Cyber Hub, Gurugram
Apower-packed performance, gang of Bollywood ‘Veeres’, a stand-up comedy act and a great dose of entertainment marked the opening of the biggest celebration of music in Delhi-NCR — Hindustan Times DLF Cyber Hub Friday Jam Season 5, powered by Too Yumm and Nearbuy.com. Thousands thronged the venue to be a part of the unforgettable evening.
As expected, when the film divas, star cast of upcoming film, Veere Di Wedding — Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania — took to the stage, they were greeted with loud cheers and echoes of their names. They, too, reciprocated the love with flying-kisses directed towards the fans, and eventually floored everyone with their dance moves.
“My fans are my Veeres and that is most important [to me],” said Kareena, adding, “We are very excited to be here today. Coming back to Delhi is always the best thing for me.” Bebo and her gang of Veeres from the film marked the fun evening with a selfie with the sea of fans.
Addressing the crowd, an ecstatic Sonam Kapoor Ahuja added, “Main 90% films mein ek Dilliwali ladki play karti hoon. Aur abhi meri shaadi bhi Delhi mein hui hain. I am very happy to be here and see such an amazing crowd.”
What followed was a performance by singersongwriter Guru Randhawa, who crooned his hit songs such as High Rated, Suit Suit, and Ban Ja Rani and enthralled music lovers.
From impromptu jigs to umpteen selfies, fans, too, were high on energy, getting warmed up for a five-week power-packed journey of Friday Jam ahead.
Ridhvika Chaudhury, a corporate from the city said, “It was great to see the cast of Veere Di Wedding. I am mostly here on Friday night, so my schedule is booked for five weeks now.”
Echoing the sentiment, Priyanka Jain, a teacher, said, “This is my first-time attending Friday Jam, and I loved it. We are totally crazy about Punjabi music.”
Mehek Sharma, a corporate professional, added: “After this spectacular opening, I am really looking forward to meet my favourite bands in the following Fridays.”
