A dark journey of a serial killer and ruthless cop

-

One of India’s largest digital entertainment companies, Hungama, recently announced the launch of its first original show, Damaged. This psychological crime drama stars actor Amruta Khanvilkar as the seductress, Lovina, who’s a promiscuous, brutal and remorseless serial killer; and Amit Sial as Abhay, a ruthless, angry and triggerhappy cop.

The show is an interesting study of human behaviour, with both the lead actors playing characters that are flawed and have more shades than one. Lovina is an ordinary woman who has a way with men, but finds it difficult to forgive their trespassing. She ultimately embarks on a dark journey from which she can’t return. Abhay, a cop obsessed with solving the serial killings and ready to go to any length, is plagued by his own inner demons that rob him of his humane qualities.

Speaking about the show, Neeraj Roy, Managing Director and CEO, Hungama Digital Media, says, “Damaged is a story that has not been told before in India. It explores the psychology of a female serial killer. Both the lead characters are complex — a woman committing serial murders because of her troubled past, and a cop who is deeply conflicted in his personal and professional life. Their back stories, personal traits, and interactions with each other lead to a dramatic build-up and translate into some of the finest performances on screen.”

The worlds of these ‘Damaged’ characters collide, making for a gripping confrontation.

Directed by Aarambhh Mohan Singh, the show is produced by Alligator Media Productions; and Neeraj Roy, Managing Director and CEO, Hungama Digital Media, is the executive producer of the show.

The show is available now on Hungama Play.
