Actor Rytasha Rathore, who has become a household name with her television show alongside Prince Narula, credits her success to her threeyear experience in theatre.

“Theatre has helped me a lot with television because while doing a play, there is no ‘cut’. It’s like you start the show and go on. Similarly, in television, when we get a big scene, it gives me a better clarity of the bigger picture because I’ve already experienced it in theatre. It helps me use better graph of the character from the start of the scene to the end of the scene,” says Rytasha.

The 25-year-old actor, who has trained under experienced theatre artists such as Rajat Kapoor, Faezeh Jalali, Vinay Pathak, Vikram Kapadia, and Akash Khurana, adds, “I’d say that theatre gives me a sense of a lot more physical presence because, you have to be aware of every movement of your body and theatre has made me an aware actor on camera.”

Rytasha has also been part of multiple short videos. “I would love to take up every medium, even radio plays or a show which could be fun. I am happy to do film, stage, web, TV as long as the content is exciting and character is progressive. The overall arc of the show needs to be in alignment with my artistic vision as an actor,” she says.
