Meet Abhishek Bajaj, the actor who can also rap, and how!
Besides acting, Abhishek Bajaj has another talent up his sleeve. Guess what? He can rap, too. He recently created a rap sequence for a TV show that he features in, and is now thinking of taking it forward professionally.
A huge fan of Pakistani-American rapper Bohemia — whom the actor calls his “inspiration” — Abhishek says that rapping comes to him “naturally”, and it all began during his college days. “I started rapping when I was in PGDAV (Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo Vedic) College, Delhi University, and my friends soon started praising my effort. They used to request me to create special raps for them and I’d also perform at events in college... Till date, all my raps have been impromptu,” he says.
Abhishek recalls rapping for fun on the sets of Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi… Meri Bhabhi, and also for his friends. “While working on the show, I created a fun rap on bhabis going by the theme of the show and my co-stars loved it. My close friends from the industry also ask me to perform during our get-togethers. I’ve penned raps for Rashmi [Desai], Himani [Sharma], Rubina [Dilaik] and Abhinav [Shukla].” The actor even wrote one for his engagement ceremony with Akanksha Jindal. They tied the knot in 2017.
Abhishek is working on a new track, and says that he plans to release it on a big scale. “This rap takes inspiration from certain incidents in my life. I will also shoot a video for it. Right now, I am meeting singers and composers to plan out my next move,” he wraps up.
