When it comes to pool parties, humans shouldn’t have all the fun, right? More and more people in the Capital are coming up with pool parties for pooches to help them beat the scorching heat. While some offer pool during the boarding and grooming, others organise separate pool treats for your furry friends.

“We provide dog boarding and have a cool, pet-friendly, café. We have hydrotherapy for dogs, too. Ours is a 7-day café, and we charge ₹300 for 45 minutes per dog for a pool party,” says Arushi Dixit, co-founder of Furr Ball Story, located in Sector-54, Golf Course Road, Gurugram.

And dog lovers in Delhi NCR are flocking to these cafés. “Weekends are the only days I spend with my pets, and I ensure that I take them out to chill. They both love the pool, and playing with them de-stresses me, too,” says Gaurav Sinha, a corporate professional, adding “I live in Saket but prefer going to Gurugram.”

Another place for your pet to have a splashy time in the pool is Ginger Dog Boarding, located in Sector-15, Gurugram. The place opens 24X7, and founder Chetna Singh says, “We don’t organise pool parties but while they are staying with us, we let them spend time in the water. Also, it depends on the breed. The pond is small and big dogs are not comfortable inside. We charge ₹500 for 24 hours.”

Pet Home Boarding near Chattarpur offers pet parents the chance to enjoy the pool, too. The place is spread over 3 acres of land, a lush green park, and free cage boarding to boot. “One has to pay ₹400 for a two-hour pool party, and the cost for private arrangements goes up to ₹600. The pool is for both pets and owners. It is completely hygienic and open all days,” say the owners.

This is sure to have the pets delighted, as are their humans. “I am thrilled that this summer we have a lot of options. My dogs are happy and I am happy that people are taking dog parties seriously,” says Ruchira Awasthy, a law student.

I am thrilled that this summer we have a lot of options. My dogs are happy and I am happy that people are taking dog parties seriously. It’s not just a destressing therapy for the pet, but for me, too.
