What to see & do
Head out on the tundra buggies to see wild polar bears, arctic foxes, and other wildlife just 60 minutes from town.
Visit the Inuit Museum, Itsaniq, for in-depth glimpses into the Canadian Inuit and their world. Visit the Parks Canada Museum at the disused railway station to see a wide range of pelts of animals hunted in Canada and to learn about the local Swampy Cree and Dene First Nations people. Experience Aurora Borealis by the inukshook (Inuit landmark sculpture) at the beach.
See the crash site of the Curtis C-46 Commando aircraft. It has been painted artistically.
