Nora is the happiest while teaching dance
Actor-dancer Nora Fatehi’s dance cover for international Arabic superstar, Saad Lamjarred, is up for release today. The original song, Ghazali, that went viral and has already amassed six crore views online, will be getting a new twist this Eid — Nora will be seen doing freestyle dancing on the song.
Apparently, when Nora was offered the song, she wanted to show how there is talent seeping throughout India, so she thought of something unique.
A source close to the actor says, “Nora approached the St Catherine’s Orphanage in Mumbai to shoot the video with the girls there, but she was up for a surprise. When they started rolling, the kids started doing freestyle moves [without any instructions].”
Nora’s association with these kids didn’t end here. Soon after finishing the shoot, she asked the organisation if she could teach the kids dance every alternate week. “Nora recognised that these kids have so much of talent. After getting permission from authorities, she’s been going there for the last few months,” adds the source.
Ask Nora about how the experience has been, and she says, “Nothing makes me happier than seeing real talent. Watching these underprivileged girls dance their heart out and feel so happy while doing it made me realise that I can really spread happiness through dance. Coming from a multicultural city like Toronto (Canada), I don’t believe in borders and cultural restrictions.” Nora adds that the kids loved Saad’s song Ghazali. “They wouldn’t stop singing it even though they had no idea which language it was or even the meaning of the song. That’s the power of art!” she adds.
