Actor Aashka Goradia’s recent trip to Andaman was a special one for many reasons. The actor took to diving for the first time, explored the local cuisine and was fascinated by the people of Andaman.

Aashka landed in Port Blair, spent around two days there, then moved to Neil islands, Havelock and Baratang Islands. “During this trip, I faced my biggest fear of going underwater. I went for my first dive and Brent (Gob husband) pushed me to do so He explained to me how it is one-of-its-kind opportunity t experience a world beyond o control. And, it indeed was an experience to remember,” say Aashka.

The duo chose to travel on a scooter when on Neil Island. Aashka says, “You can travel from the start of the widest part of the island to the end in 5km. Also, interestingly, you can view the sunset and sunrise from the same island.”

Aashka enjoyed the company of the locals. She says, “The people are fantastic. The islanders on Neil and Havelock are still trying to understand tourists. The places are not commercialised and they are still building up their hospitality. However, they are warm and extremely friendly. We played cricket with the local kids and had so much fun.”

Regarding the local cuisine, Aashka adds, “There is a lot on offer for non-vegetarians as seafood is popular. Brent had a great time, but I could not try much. The spices used were different so I would say that the tastes of every dish was different.”
