What’s the first thing that comes to mind, the minute you hear someone say KFC? For most of us, it’s either fried, crispy and juicy chicken or Colonel Sanders’ face, the founder of KFC. Interestingly, Colonel has an Indian identity, now, as a part of a new initiative by the brand, KFC Land.

Theatre actor Denzil Smith has been roped in to play the first Indian Colonel Sanders for KFC India. He seamlessly plays the part, bringing alive the persona of the beloved late Colonel. “I am honoured to play Colonel, which is played by popular actors in the world. I am really honoured to be doing this part,” says Denzil, dressed in the signature look of late Colonel Sanders.

And, that’s not all! The brand hosted a celebratory evening in honour of

‘Colonel’s visit to India’ and to give customers an exclusive experience of KFC Land.

Elated about KFC Land and bringing Colonel Sanders to India, Moksh Chopra, director — marketing, KFC India, said, “KFC Land is our new platform to communicate the KFC Brand story in an interesting, distinct way. Over the months ahead, people will hear about our new launches, activations, offers and all other brand initiatives through this platform. And of course, we wanted to kickstart by introducing chicken lovers in India to our founder, Colonel Sanders.”

Colonel handpicked a few celebs to be part of his exclusive India crew, including actors Shikha Talsania, Sumeet Vyas and Prince Narula. He also declared July 6 as Fried Chicken Day.
