LEARNING THROUGH ON-GROUND ACTION
The Hindustan Times Friday Jam Season 5 was an experience of a lifetime for students of SGT (Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary) University located in Gurugram as they got an opportunity to put into practice the knowledge gained in the classroom, through a variety of on-ground activities.
Hands-on experience was provided to students from various courses; the jams proved to be an excellent platform to showcase their talent and skills. Sharing his experience, Ajay, a student of of Mass Communication and Media Technology, said, “We actually got to implement our classroom learning practically. Being a part of the content creation team, I got to capture the on-ground action that not only sharpened my camera handling skills but also gave me confidence to interact with known personalities.”
At SGT University, Gurugram, spread over 70 acres of lush green campus, academic mentors are focused on inculcating skills and behaviours for a good cultural fit along with the right academic background.
Another student of the university, Nimish, from the faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management said, “Working with professionals has helped us in honing our skills. Being a part of the hospitality team, we learnt crowd management, celeb management, and team work.”
Despite the scorching heat in the city, the students were involved not only in the ground work, but also captivated the audience with a compelling nukkad natak performance. Dressed in white kurtas paired with red dupattas, their performance had a powerful and eyeopening message on keeping the city clean and green.
On the occasion, Dr Shyam Lal Singla, SGTU Pro Chancellor, said, “We are glad to partner with Hindustan Times to sponsor HT Friday Jam.
