Renee doesn’t believe in socialising much
Actor Renee Dhyani shot to instant fame when she appeared on reality shows on television including Bigg Boss season 8. What followed was her career in acting. However, the actor says that this was not something she wanted to do initially.
“I did a task-based show and got famous. Coming from a reality segment, you start getting a fan following. People know you because you did something. After I entered the acting industry, I realised that millions of people dream of doing this work! You should feel lucky that you got a chance. It did feel a little weird in the beginning, but then I got accustomed to it, and now I love it,” says Renee, who is now gearing to play a negative character in her new show.
The actor was recently seen in the show Chandrakanta where she played a negative role. Asked if it’s a conscious choice to play such characters, she quips that she loves grey characters. “I always do a thorough study of the role I am going to take up. In my latest show, I will be seen as a prostitute. I went to a brothel in Kolkata to shoot our promo, taaki unn cheezon ko apne andar laa sakoon,” says Renee, who worked in the IT sector before venturing into showbiz.
So, is she happy with the way things are shaping up for her? “Yes,” she says, adding, “I am superbly happy. I am lucky that my graph is going up. Also, I am not that actor who believes in socialising or going to award functions. I also don’t like wearing designer clothes just to give paparazzi pictures. I believe in the quality of roles, that’s it.”
