Joaquin Phoenix is the latest Joker?
Actor Joaquin Phoenix will be starring as Joker in a stand-alone movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 43-year-old actor has signed the deal and the shooting will begin in September in New York.
Directed by Todd Phillip and co-written by Silver Scot and Phoenix, the film can be described as, “exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.”
The project is an original film for the Batman nemesis with a budget of $55 million and will be experimental and dark in approach.
The release dates aren’t revealed yet, but the film might be ready for release in 2019. ANI
