Dilbar breaks all records, crosses 100 million views
Sushmita Sen’s hit song Dilbar from Sirf Tum which has been recreated for the film Satyameva Jayate has crossed 100 million views. According to the producers Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani, Dilbar, picturised on Nora Fatehi, accumulated the fastest 20 million views on YouTube within 24 hours when it was released on July 4. The actor’s spectacular belly dancing skills caught everyone’s attention and it soon became the song with the fastest 50 million views and now reportedly holds the fastest 100 million views record. It is also the first Indian song to reach the number 3 position on Billboards YouTube Channel.
Sung by Neha Kakkar and Dhvani Bhanushali, the song has been recreated by music composer, Tanishk Bagchi. Producer Bhushan Kumar, who conceptualised and guided the team in the right direction to recreate Dilbar says, “We, at T-Series are humbled and overjoyed by this achievement. It’s a testimony to the combined effort and hard work put in by Neha, Nora, Dhvani, Tanishk, Nikkhil, director Milap ( Zaveri), John (Abraham) and choreographer Adil (Shaikh).”
Kumar adds, “Naysayers have in the past criticised the recreation of old songs. Identifying the right song and then selecting the right ingredients that will go into the making of that concoction of a successful song is an art. If it wasn’t, then all recreated songs would have become hits. The worldwide acceptance to this song is proof that we are doing something right.”
