We are overwhelmed: Janhvi and Ishaan
Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter-starrer Dhadak releases this Friday. As the two of them have been extensively travelling to promote their film, the young actors have received a tremendous amount of love and encouragement — especially from youngsters.
Talking about it, Janhvi says, “I didn’t expect this kind of outpouring of love but I am so thankful and full of gratitude for it. It has been overwhelming.” Ishaan too chips in as he says, “Maybe I just didn’t think enough about the kind of love and warmth we would get. I hope that people feel that it’s all worth it once they see the film.”
The film has been shot in Udaipur, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Kolkata and Mumbai but Udaipur remains a favourite with both actors. “Every memory related to this film will always be special, but above all, it’s the 16 days we spent in Udaipur which were the most memorable,” says Ishaan. For Janhvi however, her experience of visiting Kolkata was special too. “When we went to Bhawanipur, we saw everyone cheering for us. They gave us so much love and positive energy. That memory that will stay with me forever,” she says.
The two have become social media stars overnight but ask them if it’s pressurising to be known as a youth icon and Janhvi says that it’s more motivating then nerve-wracking and pushes her to do better. Ishaan however, says, “It doesn’t make me nervous. Love is always welcome but I do feel a sense of responsibility and that makes me want to do better.”
