Having been a part of the film industry for almost four decades, actor Jackie Shroff is now set to make his debut in the digital space. He has started shooting for a web series, an adaptation of the 2008 British series, Criminal Justice.

Shroff, who has done films in as many as 11 languages, says experimenting with another medium was like a new opportunity that got him excited. “The sky has opened up. And I am a part of the universe. I have always tried to be a true blue blooded Aquarian. I have been experimenting with television right from the beginning when it opened. So, for me, it has always been a step ahead. Now that the sky has opened, I had to be part of it,” he says.

In the web series, he would share screen space with actors Vikrant Massey, Pankaj Tripathi, Mita Vashisht and Anupriya Goenka. The actor, who also has films such as Prasthanam and Romeo Akbar and Walter lined up, besides a cameo in Student of the Year 2, adds, “Till I keep my discipline, my health, my voice, and my ability to listen to my directors, I think they will cast me… The digital platform is expanding and I am enjoying shooting for my first web series. I am working with directors like Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Furia, so it’s a great experience.”

Shroff was really impressed with the storyline of this web series, which has been adapted for the Indian audience by Shridhar Raghavan. “The script brought out a host of emotions in me and I hope it does that to the viewers, too,” says the actor, who was seen in an award-winning short film titled, Khujli, last year.
