Saluting the martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas
To pay a tribute to the martyrs of Kargil War,
Select Citywalk mall in Saket hosted a two-day event, titled Kargil Vijay Diwas. A dog show by the Indian Army canines marked the occasion, followed by Kargil Vijay Diwas: No Man Left Behind, an initiative that honoured the families of 13 martyrs. Also, the mall’s management announced the Inder Sharma Kargil Award for Academic Excellence for the toppers of Army Public School.
Later in the evening, there was a Hand Shadow Performance by Udupi-based magician-turned shadow player Prahlad Acharya, followed by a performance by the Army band. The event concluded with Painting Miracle, a tribute by Vilas Nayak.
“This was the sixth year of Kargil Diwas celebrations at the mall. Our founder, Late Inder Sharma had great respect for the Army for their courage and sacrifice to protect our motherland,” said Arjun Sharma, chairman, Select Citywalk.
The chief guests for the occasion were Madhulika Rawat, wife of Army Chief Bipin Rawat and President of Army Women Welfare Association. Also present were Major General GD Bakshi and other prominent dignitaries, including Major General Dhruv C Katoch and Air Vice Marshal BK Bishnoi. Yograj Arora, co-director,
