Shashank Vyas had a good start in his acting career with a popular show like Balika Vadhu, but he had been waiting to bag a male-centric show all along. “I’m lucky that I got Balika Vadhu at the initial stage of my career. I got to work with fantastic directors and stars. Going on the set didn’t feel like going to work; it was my life. But I have a long way to go,” says the actor, who had also done the fiction Jaana Na Dil Se Door.

Shashank will now be seen playing the lead role in a show, which will mark his comeback after a year, as he had been looking for something interesting. He says, “I waited for a male-centric show and said no to a number of shows in between. I am very proud of my last two shows because my characters were well spaced out in them. So, I wanted to live up to the expectations of my fans. The days that I spent at home, I worked on myself and gave time to myself, hoping for the best to happen.”

The actor also underwent a body transformation. Far from his short hair days, he’s now seen sporting a longer mane. Asked about the importance of good looks for any actor, he says, “It’s a glamorous world and in showbiz, you need to look good. But personality is equally important, and talent is above everything else.”

Hoping to impress the audiences with his talent, Shashank adds, that acting is a non-stop learning process. He says, “You realise how not to repeat the same mistake. The more I hear the word ‘action’, the better actor I become.”
