‘Waiting for right day for Baazaar’
Brushing aside the “problems” around the release of his upcoming film Baazaar, filmmaker Nikkhil Advani says he is waiting for the right day to release it.
“We are just looking for the right day. I know Baazaar will always be the no. 2 film… and I can say that from the rooftops (in terms of Saif Ali Khan’s performances),” Advani says.
“This is possibly Saif’s best performance after Omkara (2006), but even when the trailer comes out, you will think, ‘Should I spend a thousand rupees to see this film? I can watch it on [a web platform] or TV when it comes... Should I spend the money?’” adds Advani, stressing on the importance of giving the audience enough incentive to come to the theatre.
The filmmaker was also in advanced talks for an online platform for the film’s release, but added that he later decided against it.
