Life has come easiest to us millennials! Well, at least in terms of ordering and exploring food! Sitting at the luxury of home or office, we download an app, choose what to eat and pay online. Voila! Food is delivered to your doorsteps.

But when you’re in the Capital, the city of Djinns, a place that’s a witness to the rise and fall of dynasties and kingdoms, the experience needs to transcend beyond the normal routine, don’t you think? Folks, just as there is vast diversity in its culture, Delhi is also home to some of India’s oldest restaurants that have stood the test of time — from the Quit India Movement, painful partition, the evolution of taste of the growing middle class, impact of globalisation on food and flavour to modern-day India and more.

This 72nd Independence day, let us take a peek back in time with these four iconic eateries that take you on a gastronomic journey.
