Hosted by the DLF Mall of India, this fashion show presented the most exquisite designer creations, fit for modern-day brides and grooms who love to mix the old with the new to make a statement
Refreshing floral decor, glowing lanterns and mood-lifting dhol beats created the perfect backdrop for this wedding showcase. The show was a part of India’s biggest wedding extravaganza, Wedding Special, hosted by DLF Mall of India.
The show celebrated exquisitely crafted designer wear that brought together traditions and modern sensibilities, presenting brands such as Ritu Kumar, Meena Bazaar, Mohanlal Sons; and statement wedding jewellery from Diamond Tree, Preeti Mohan, BG’s, and Voylla to complement the outfits. “DLF Mall of India with a range of 150 plus wedding related brands, is an ideal space for shopping. We are delighted to curate an annual property called the Wedding Special for our mall regulars. From gifting to home décor to wedding apparel, jewellery and accessories, we have it all covered. The specially curated show featured clothes for different wedding functions such as cocktail, mehendi and the grand wedding. The fashion show, choreographed by Aparna and Anisha, featured latest bridal trends such as jackets paired with skirts, fringed saris and peplum gowns. Bollywood actor Vaani Kapoor added starry glamour to the evening as the showstopper, wearing a stunning maroon velvet lehenga by Ritu Kumar.
The designer’s autumnwinter 2018 collection was titled, Remembering the Silk Route. “Our glamorous lehengas, jackets, dresses and saris showcase Persian motifs and jewelled palettes, drawing inspiration from architecture and finest historical sartorial practices. These are translated on to fine chanderi, rich velvets, and lush Banarasi fabrics, enhanced with meticulous embroideries,” said Amrish Kumar, CEO of the Ritu Kumar company.
