- Aishwarya Chattoraj (With inputs from beauty experts Seema Malik and Mallika Gambhir)

Exfoliating becomes all the more pertinent in monsoon as humidity can lead to excessive sweating and sebum production, which leads to clogged pores. As a result, your skin witnesses dullness and blackheads, among other issues. The moral of the story is that your skin needs a good scrubbing. And what better way to do it than to use natural products? Here are some easy DIY scrubs. Oatmeal scrub: This is one of the most ideal scrubs for monsoon. Add almond paste and raw milk to it for giving your skin a hydration boost. Leave it on your face and body for 10 minutes. Scrub gently and rinse off with cold water. This works for all skin types.

Peppermint scrub: Make a paste of crushed peppermint leaves, olive oil/ coconut oil, and sugar. Use it after refrigerating for 10 minutes. Pumpkin scrub: Soak pumpkin chunks in water and grind it. Mix brown sugar or finely ground brown rice and coconut oil. Coffee scrub: Take a cup of olive oil and mix with half a cup of coarsely ground sugar, and fresh coffee grounds. Store this in a jar and use it whenever you want.

Lemon and sugar face scrub: This is a simple scrub that can be used once a week on any skin type. For body, you can mix brown rice powder into it. This will make it a vitamin C scrub with the goodness of starch that will help tighten your pores and skin. Lemon will brighten your complexion and sugar will dig out dirt and grime from the skin. Cucumber-banana scrub: This is a gentle scrub for sensitive skin. Make a paste of cucumber juice, mashed banana, and crushed mint leaves. This will not only soothe your skin, but will also provide it nourishment. Those with sensitive skin should avoid scrubbing every week. Instead, do it mildly once a month and rinse off with cold water.
