Here’s to ‘Happy’ bonding on the sets
Much like the first film, Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016), the upcoming sequel, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, promises to be a comedy of errors — a clear case of mistaken identity between two girls named Happy, who cross over the border resulting in a series of crazy episodes.
While actor Diana Penty played Happy in the first part, the sequel features Sonakshi Sinha, who is also called Happy.
A member from the film’s unit shares that during the shoot, the crew was anxious about whether the two ladies would bond on the sets or not, as they had never met before, and since their chemistry is crucial to the film.
It was a ‘happy’ surprise for the unit to see the two actors hit it off right from the start. “They would be engrossed in long chats on the sets and director Mudassar Aziz would often have to intervene to get their attention,” shares a source, adding that both Diana and Sonakshi ended up becoming friends. They launched the trailer of the film together.
“I hadn’t met Sonakshi till we began shooting for the film. We had few scenes together and that’s when I got to know her. She’s a cool, chilled-out girl, very easy to work with, encouraging and warm. The happy vibe [on the sets] was a [positive] for the film. It was really nice to work with someone as lovely as her and the whole cast put together,” says Diana.
Presented by Eros International and Aanand L Rai, A Colour Yellow Production produced by Aanand L Rai and Krishika Lulla, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi releases on August 24.
