Perseverance has paid off for the actor, who has bagged two major projects after having done just two Bollywood films in five years
Vaani Kapoor feels that every actor in the film industry has their own journey and that no parallels should be drawn between them. Since making her debut in 2013 with Shuddh Desi Romance, Vaani has done only two Bollywood films so far — the other being Befikre (2016).
The only other film Vaani has been seen in was the 2014 Telugu flick Aaha Kalyanam, but she is unfazed. “I feel every actor charts a different course in their career. Everyone has an individual journey and so I think you can’t compare one to another. I made personal choices and stuck to it. I am proud of the choices I made. I am happy and content about it,” says Vaani.
And it is indeed after a considerable amount of time that Vaani has taken on her next two projects — a big-ticket action flick starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, and the dacoit saga Shamshera, opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
“I’m in a very happy space now. I am relaxed enough,” adds Vaani, who has already started the prep for these projects. “I am working hard. There is quite a lot of work to do. I have to put in a lot of hard work and train very hard. The shooting of Shamshera will begin after I finish the Hrithik and Tiger film,” she says.
Her upcoming projects — both action films — will also mark a departure from the work she has done previously, in terms of content and genre.
Could we see her performing a lot of stunts in the film? “I won’t be doing action as hardcore as Hrithik or Tiger. But I can assure that it is something an audience will be amazed to watch. The movie is a much-awaited project for me and even as an audience member, I am looking forward to watching it. It is going to be one of the biggest action films. Both the projects are exciting,” concludes Vaani.
