If you are planning to revamp your closet this festive season, then Day 4 of the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018 was the place to be. From ethnic wear for your next family gathering, pantsuits for your next business meeting to chic bohemian outfits which will get you party ready in a minute, there was something for everyone on the runway.

For the brides-tobe, fashion designers such as Anushree Reddy, Etika, Moksha Shah and Hiral Shah showcased the perfect bridal wear. Reddy’s line Sitara revolved around the modern day bride. Speaking about the collection, she says, “It’s for the new-age modern bride who is confident and knows herself. She isn’t scared to experiment at all and wants it all. Basically, she is someone whose feet are on the ground, and eyes are on the sky. That’s the attitude we wanted to showcase, and the clothes pretty much translate that.”

Prints, embroidery, ruffles and most importantly, layering were the highlights of Day 4. Fashion designer duo Saaksha Bhat and Kinnari Kamat (of Saaksha & Kinni) incorporated a lot of layers and jackets in their creations. “Jackets and layering are an integral part of our vibe and our brand. There’s this connotation that India is a hot country and you can’t layer. We are trying to break that stereotype and that mould. You can layer lightly, effectively and efficiently,” says Bhat.
