‘Chaitanya and Akhil very different as individuals’
Actor Nidhhi Agerwal is juggling two Telugu projects right now. And interestingly, the two films have two half-brothers — Telugu stars Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni —sons of superstar Nagarjuna. While she stars opposite Chaitanya in Savyasachi, the one starring her and Akhil is yet to get a title. The Munna Michael (2017) actor says that while the brothers are similar in that they are both energetic and co-operative, they have different qualities, too.
“My film with Chaitanya is my second project. I didn’t understand the Telugu language at all when we started shooting for the film. So, he’d help me understand what was being discussed on the sets. He is a gem of a person, extremely talented, and such a natural actor. Chaitanya is full of positivity, always encouraging and making sure that I’d feel comfortable from day one. Akhil also made sure that I’d enjoy my work. He has got a lot of energy and is very warm as a person.”
Speaking about similarities and differences, Nidhhi says, “They have similar mannerisms, which is, of course, expected, given that they’ve grown up together. But as individuals, they’re different,” replies Nidhhi, adding, “I’m also aware of the jokes and memes around me working with two brothers. They’re really funny.”
Nidhhi shares that both these films have helped her get more comfortable with the language, which is also why she is looking to explore more of the industry. While she has almost finished shooting for Savyasachi, the other film is being shot, with its London schedule over, and filming under way in Hyderabad.
