First trailer of The Front Runner has Hugh Jackman facing a sex scandal
HUGH JACKMAN PLAYS FORMER AMERICAN SENATOR GARY HART IN THE FILM WHICH DEPICTS THE RISE AND FALL OF HART’S CAREER DUE TO HIS EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR
Actor Hugh Jackman’s character is under fire in the new trailer of his political drama The Front Runner. The 49-year-old actor plays former American senator Gary Hart during his 1988 presidential campaign. The trailer shows his campaign turning into a crisis after Hart’s extramarital affair is discovered, reports variety.com.
Jackman portrays a confident Democratic candidate during the rise and fall of his political career. Considered the front runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, his affair with Donna Rice forces Hart to drop out of the race.
“I’ve never known a guy more talented at untalented politics so that anyone could understand. It is a gift and he wants to share that,” JK Simmons, who plays campaign manager Bill Dixon, says about Hart in the trailer.
The film has been helmed by two-time Oscar nominated director Jason Reitman. Reitman has films such as Thank You for Smoking (2005), Juno (2007), and Up in the Air (2009) to his credit. The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Molly Ephraim, and Sara Paxton.
Jackman’s next is the animated film The Missing Link. The actor will voice the character of a “myths and monsters investigator”.
