Workplace fashion: Styling a blazer right

- (With inputs from fashion experts Ruyant Matthieu and Radhika Singhal)

You can keep your office attire comfy and chic with a basic blazer. A workplace look is incomplete without power dressing, and nothing spells sophistication at the office like a blazer! Be it a basic neutral coloured one, a striped piece, or a printed one, it is important to style your blazer right. Here are some tips to ace the look.

You can try monochrome for a foolproof office look. A casual grey blazer is ideal for daily wear. You can pair it with a peplum top, tailored trousers, and stilettos to look smart and sharp at work. A simple minimalist neckpiece can add to the look.

For a casual Friday, wear a checkered blazer over your old comfort denims and Tshirt. The blazer will dress up your old jeans.

Raid your father or boyfriend’s wardrobe to borrow an oversized blazer. You can team this with a simple white long shirt and denims.

Feel cold in office? Just throw on a black or white blazer over your outfit. Not only will this keep you warm at work, but will also make you look chic. You can also wear a scarf around your neck or drape it over the blazer. Another elegant way to use a blazer is to simply drape it over your shoulders.

A fitted blazer makes distressed jeans look much less casual and more appropriate for workplace. Go for a fitted, solid-coloured blazer to look slimmer and taller.

A long and/or oversized blazer over your favourite short summery dress will add an edge to your outfit.
