Here’s how Pulkit deals with negativity online

While most actors today are addicted to social media, posting pictures and sharing their personal moments with fans, there’s a flip side to it, too. Getting trolled by haters is an inevitable and unavoidable part and parcel of being on social media.

Actor Pulkit Samrat, who is not new to being trolled, feels the best way to avoid the negativity is to ignore what the trolls are saying.

“Take it in your positive stride. Think that if people are trolling you, then you must have done something worthwhile. The more importance you give them, the more they [start to] affect you. It’s better to concentrate on more fruitful things in life than such negative and pointless criticism. If these few people are earning their bread and butter by trolling, let them do it. All I have to do is mute or block them,” says Pulkit, known for films such as Fukrey (2013), Jai Ho (2014), and Sanam Re (2016).

Trolls aside, Pulkit also gets a lot of love on social media thanks, to his growing female fan following. The comments and likes on the photos he posts are proof enough.

Ask him about it and he beams, “I love and respect my fans. There’s nothing to handle. I just feel blessed to have them. [I think] they like the fact that I am real, there is no façade. I just share [what’s in] my heart on my page and my fans connect to that.”

Interestingly, Pulkit has also made an Instagram profile of his beloved pet dog, Drogo. He smiles when we mention this. “I love pets, especially dogs; so when Drogo came home, I felt complete. He is my closest buddy. And you know he deserved a [separate] page [on social media]. Uske bahut sare fans hain. We recently celebrated his second birthday and he posed the same way he did one year back,” signs off the actor.
