A glamorous tale of friendship turned sour
The drama series about two bitter rivals, who were once close friends, is the latest Hungama Original offering. Bar Code explores a friendship which is shattered by egos and how the enmity proves dangerous for them and those around them as well.
At the centre of the story are two friends Vicky and Sahil, played by Karan Wahi and Akshay Oberoi respectively, who enter the nightclub business together but fall out and become bitter rivals. Yet, both find themselves entangled in each other’s lives.
“Bar Code weaves in themes of friendship, differences and egos that are instantly relatable. Set in the upscale nightclubs of Mumbai, the show explores the difficult dynamics between the leads,” said Neeraj Roy, managing director and CEO, Hungama Digital Media.
“Brilliant performances, deft direction and a large production set-up transport the audience to a world that is dramatic, engaging and entertaining,” said Neeraj, who is also executive producer of the show.
The show will provide a sneak peek into the glamorous world of South Bombay nightclubs and uber-rich lifestyles. Through the eyes of its characters, the audience is privy to the code required to run a successful nightclub.
Bar Code also stars Simran Kaur Mundi, Parina Chopra, Tina Singh and Bharat Dabholkar, among others. It is written and directed by Vignesh Shetty and produced by Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios.
