The latest entrant in Bollywood’s club of newcomers, Warina Hussain was a known face owing to the commercials she has done, but it was through producer Salman Khan’s mobile app that she landed her debut film, LoveYatri.

“One day, I got a random message. I replied to it and sent in my introduction to the app. I forgot about it. After a month, I got a call from Mukesh Chhabra’s casting office. He asked if I could come and audition. I went there, and was handed a blank script, without any character info,” reveals Warina.

The actor had no idea who Aayush Sharma, her co-star in the film, was, when she was going to the actor’s house to meet the film’s director, Abhiraj Minawala. When she looked it up on the internet while she was on her way, “the results said he [Aayush] was a businessman, and further his age as 34-37”, she says.

LoveYatri has had a decent run at the box-office. What made buzz before the release was the controversy that rose around the original title Loveratri. “There was a lot of hard work. The name Loveratri had become our identity. We all were debutants... The last thing we wanted was a controversy. Somewhere down the line it was disheartening,” she says.
