Providing an informative insight into showbiz and films

-

It’s time for cinema connoisseurs to rejoice as Saavn’s Original Programming catalog has launched the second season of the entertainment-based audio show, Take 2 with Anupama and Rajeev.

The podcast has two of the country’s most renowned film critics Anupama Chopra and Rajeev Masand, coming together, to talk about movies and cinema, their experiences with actors and directors and more.

What makes this show standout from the rest is that it’s not just your regular dose of gossip but an entertaining and informative insight into showbiz and films that have had a lasting effect, with a report from the Bollywood trenches.

Take 2 has 12 episodes with each episode running for about 40 minutes, every Monday. It started on the September 3, 2018.

In this season of Take 2, Anupama and Rajeev are chatting with some of the finest talents in Hindi Cinema about the theme of the season — the movies that have shaped their life and work. The actors who have already featured on the show till now are Ranveer Singh, Rani Mukerji, Arjun Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Kalki Koechlin, Radhika Apte, Kajol and Shahid Kapoor.

There have also been a few quirky things that have been confessed, revealed and admitted on the show.

For instance, Ranveer disclosed to be a crazy Govinda fan and also stated, “Dadi wanted me to be an actor”. Rani confessed, “Aamir Khan was my first crush at the movies” and spoke about her experience of working with the three Khans at a young age.

Other Bollywood actors also shared a few fun anecdotes about the film industry. Radhika revealed that “Rangeela (1995) was one of the films that made me want to be an actress.” Kalki stated that it’s kind of hard for her to compare herself with the classical Indian actresses and that there are actors that she loves, such as Smita Patil and Tabu.

There were also several revelations. In one of the podcasts, Kajol said, “I never wanted to be an actor actually. I found it a very erratic industry and a very erratic profession.”

And, talking about the veteran actor Dilip Kumar, Shahid Kapoor said, “I feel Dilip Sahab was so ahead of his times.”

Not very fond of romance as a genre but Kuch Kuch hota hai had an impact on me.
