Actor Varun Sharma, best known for his onscreen character Choocha from the Fukrey film franchise, isn’t really tired of doing more films in the comedy genre. Though his latest release, FryDay, didn’t really work magic at the boxoffice, Varun says working with a veteran like Govinda is what he cherishes the most.

“He (Govinda) was absolutely amazing as a costar, so funny and full of positive energy. The entire set brightens up when he enters,” says Varun, adding that there was so much to learn from Govinda. “Just in one particular scene, he gives out so many emotions and expressions; so, as an actor, there was a lot of learning,” he says.

Recalling his “coolest memories” of working with Govinda, Varun mentions the time when he got to share a dance step with the senior actor. “It has been my childhood fantasy, which I am sure is the case for every 90’s kid… to dance with Govinda. And it came true for me while shooting for this film,” shares an excited Varun.

Asked if he ever felt starstruck seeing Govinda give a take, Varun admits, “He does everything with such ease that the person around gets lost in watching how he performs as an actor. Also, he has so much of energy that when he throws it around, you automatically develop that in you.”

The actor goes on to add that the one thing he would always remember is how Govinda used to improvise a lot while giving shots.

“That was a whole different experience for me. He’s the most amazing actor we have. He is a legend in his own space and the genre (comedy). I’m always aspiring to be better in this genre. So, there’s a lot to learn. And when you are shooting, you aren’t learning directly from them... like, how they approach work and other things come subconsciously to your mind, and you kind of follow them in your life. So, yes, I’ve picked up a lot of things and they might come handy in future,” he says.
