Tantalise your taste buds as corporate chef Augusto Cabrera prepares simple yet flavourful sushi for singer Shibani Kashyap
The easiest way to feel good is by eating light and good quality food. On day three of the HT City Culinary Fest, we set out on a gourmet journey to the Far East to find a scrumptious Japanese delicacy, Persea Americana (avocado) roll, a signature vegetarian sushi roll prepared by Chef Augusto Cabrera, Town Hall, for singer Shibani Kashyap.
Making sushi is an art. It needs precision to ensure a certain texture. Kashyap said, “As the festive season is here, we often indulge in unhealthy snacks but sushi is a healthy option, especially the vegetarian one the chef is preparing for me is quite nutritious.”
About the event, she said, “It’s a lovely idea to get a celebrity and a chef — you get to learn so many things. I would like to thank HT for having me on board. I love sushi but didn’t know what all goes into the making of it.”
On the correct way to eat sushi, Chef Augusto Cabrera said, “If we go back to the traditional way of eating sushi, it’s just with hands. You pick it up, add a bit of wasabi, dip it in soya and eat, and have a bit of ginger to clean the palate.” Talking about his experience at the HT Culinary Fest, he said, “I’ve cooked for a lot of celebrities but not a singer, so I want to thank HT City for that. It was a fun session of combining singing and cooking.”
