HOPE’S TALE RETOLD
Aperennially popular, evergreen Broadway Musical, Annie, was chosen by Lotus Valley International School, Noida to celebrate its 15th Annual Day recently. The play, based on Harold Gray’s famous comic script, is not just a feel-good tale of how a nine-year-old, starry-eyed girl manages to pave the way for a better tomorrow but transcends the drama to encapsulate the tenets of faith and positivity.
The musical, directed by theatre actors Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal, and their team, was the result of the efforts of 500 students, primarily from middle and senior school. Through the magnificent sets, the perfectly synchronized dances and the mellifluous choir, the theme of love and fortitude was brought to life. The chief guest of the evening, Neelam Pratap Rudy, vice-president, Women in Aviation (India Chapter) complimented the students on the talent they exhibited and added she was inspired by the vision of Dr Ruchi Seth which had culminated into the spellbinding performances of the grand celebration.
Vice-principal, Shuchi Sinha, in her address said, “Annie represents the eternal optimist, empowered with the beacon of love and hope. She instills the faith that despite the stresses of the world today, good things still do happen.”
The best debater of the school, Avi Malhotra of grade XII received the coveted LVIS, Patron’s Trophy instituted by Dr Shyama Chona, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardee. Teachers completing 10 years of service to the institution were felicitated by vicechairpersons Sureena Uppal and Jaspreet
Kaur.
