Audiences on the web are far more open and accepting: Sandeepa
Much like her contemporaries, actor Sandeepa Dhar is also exploring the web medium. The actor is working on a web series starring Vivek Oberoi. However, Sandeepa is tightlipped about the project.
“I’m not supposed to talk about it. I can say that the show is based on the underworld and the narrative is interesting. My character in it is also different. I had been offered several web series before but then I decided to say yes to this one. It feels a lot like a film,” she says.
Sandeepa feels digital is the next big thing. “Everyone is working on the web; be it newcomers or known actors. The reach of the web is much more than any other medium. There is so much scope to experiment on the platform, the reason why we are getting to see something new with every show. Also, the audiences on the web are far more open and accepting. As an artist, I feel there is so much for me to do given the unlimited opportunities it provides,” adds Sandeepa, who has done films such as Dabangg 2 (2012) and Heropanti (2014).
Meanwhile, she has done a Spanish film, Mientras Dure La Guerra, in which she plays the role of a Puerto Rican girl. “She (the character) is a traveller and a writer, who visits Spain and the film highlights her journey,” says Sandeepa, who is currently filming her next Bollywood project titled Firrkie.
