Thanks to the film Super 30, actor Hrithik Roshan, whose last Bollywood outing was Kaabil (2017), will keep a date with box office next year. But way before the film headed towards its release date, it started making news owing to the allegations of sexual harassment against the director of the film, Vikas Bahl.

In the latest instance, reports have come up that after the makers decided to drop Vikas from the project, filmmaker Kabir Khan had stepped in to complete the film, which is around 90% finished.

A few days back, talks were rife that in Vikas’ absence, Hrithik himself had started working on the postproduction of the film. After that, reports also suggested that Kabir, who “saw the gravity of the situation”, decided to come on board to “tie up the loose ends” and take over all the postproduction work for Super 30 – a film based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar. What also helped – as per reports – is the fact that Kabir shares a “terrific rapport” with Hrithik.

As of now, the film is slated to hit theatres on January 25 next year. The Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is also lined up for release on the same day.

However, sources close to Kabir deny him “coming on board” wondering “where is the time” for Kabir to “take over any new film at this point”.

When contacted, the Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) filmmaker also concurs.

“The news is absolutely false. I don’t know where it has come from. I am already neckdeep in ’83, which leaves me with no time to take up any other assignment at this point. It’s a very challenging film,” Kabir told us.

Kabir’s ongoing project, ‘83, which stars actor Ranveer Singh, is based on the Indian cricket team’s historic victory in the 1983 cricket World Cup.
