Celebrating inspiring women at this event
Under the aegis of the KLGR Educational Society, the International Women Polytechnic celebrated its annual event, Meraki — The Essence of You, 2018, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, recently. Several eminent personalities attended the day long event, with minister of state for statistics and programme implementation, Vijay Goel, gracing the occasion as chief guest. The highlights of the event were a fashion show, dance performances, and a skit by the students from IWP franchises across the country. Talking about the same, Vishal Nijhawan, MD, IWP, said, “With 20 years of dedicated service and excellence in vocational education, we are creating successful, competent individuals batch after batch, in fields of fashion designing, dress designing, teacher training courses, interior designing, cosmetology, and other vocational courses.”
“We cannot always empower the future of women, but we can empower our women for the future,” Nijhawan added in the valedictory address. Those who attended the event included theatre director and actor Sohaila Kapur; former Ms India Universe Nikita Anand; fashion photographer Hemant J Khendilwal; restaurateur Ramneek Pantal; MCD Councillor, Janakpuri, Veena Sharma; MCD Councillor, Vikaspuri, Sarita Jindal; Poonam Parashar (National President, BJP Mahila Morcha); IPS PK Bhardwaj, and Ms Sujata Bhardwaj, associate professor, DU.
