Bouquets and cupcakes getting delivered for colleagues at work, massive offers all around for couples — It’s that time of the year when fine dining and casual restaurants alike are decorated with fake hearts and offer special menus. With all this, Valentine’s Day can feel like a drag for singles. Fret not, all ye without lovers! There are plenty of events in the city celebrating singlehood, too.

Remember Thain Thain event to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali? The organisers have come up with Apna Time Ayega, an event for Delhi’s single brigade. “It promotes the idea that being single isn’t bad. The idea is to gather at Central Park in Connaught Place at 4pm, today, and just yell out Apna Time Ayega,” says one of the organisers, Satyam Aggarwal.

And if you want to gulp down your pain with a shot, then Gastronomica Kitchen & Bar, GK 1, is offering its patrons their own ‘Jab We Met’ moment by letting them burn and flush their ex’s picture. Once you do this, you’ll get a free shot to celebrate your victory.

Srishti Madan, a 22-yearold marketing professional, seems excited about these offers. “It’s good to see that restaurants are considering singles, too. I plan to go alone and celebrate the joy of being single,” she says.

Meanwhile, The Beer Café’s Screw Cupid campaign replaces clichéd romanticism with a fun instore activity, involving darts and exciting offers.

And who says V-Day is just for lovers? Desi Vibes in Punjabi Bagh is offering flat 30% off your bills if you drop by with your mom and grandmother.
