Vicky Kaushal is proud to be a technician’s son
Actor Vicky Kaushal may have risen to great heights in his career, being a National Award winner, but he has no qualms about acknowledging his roots. The son of action director Sham Kaushal, Vicky says he is proud to be a technician’s son.
“Claps, respect, and love to all the beautiful technicians who are the real heroes behind the camera. They help us (actors) become stars and they help us reach the audience. I’m a technician’s son and am proud. I have the utmost respect for them,” says the actor who was at an event honouring technical excellence in Bollywood.
Vicky recently won the National Award for his role in Uri: The Surgical Strike, besides numerous other popular awards in a short span of time. Happy with his filmography, the 31year-old says, “I have a long way to go but it makes me happy when people validate my work and acknowledge my efforts with awards. Last year has been beautiful for me.”
He also expressed his support towards the government’s move to ban plastic. He says that every film set is taking extreme care to not use plastic following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to eliminate singleuse plastic. Recently, Varun Dhawan’s next film, Coolie No. 1 became the first Bollywood film set to go plastic-free.
Vicky informs that to support this campaign, the film industry has started to use steel bottles.
“I feel we should minimise the use of plastic because it will be beneficial for our environment and future generations.
The less plastic you use, the better. What we do today, we would have to answer for to the next generation. You won’t find any plastic bottle on our film sets. Extreme care is taken that minimal plastic is there or none at all. Every film set you go on is taking care of it,” he shares.
