Actor Chandan Roy Sanyal, who is busy with a couple of web shows, believes in doing his bit for the society. He is raising his voice against discrimination that happens on the basis of skin colour by collaborating with actor Nandita Das’ on her antifairness campaign.

Nandita recently launched a two-minute anthem called India’s Got Colour. There are various segments in the music video, and Chandan will be seen playing a photographer in his segment, along with actors Radhika Apte, Ali Fazal and Shashank Arora. Happy to be associated with the cause, Chandan says, “I’ve always wanted to work with Nandita and this was an opportunity I would not have missed. The campaign is interesting and it matches with my ideologies. I hope it spreads the word.”

Chandan has been quite a regular face on the web and says that he has never been offered such a variety of roles in movies. “I’ve never done such amazing work in nine years what I have done in six months — be it getting to play protagonists in various shows or meaningful cameos. I just did a film called Sholay Girl, which was well appreciated. I’ve also finished shooting a show with Kalki Koechlin and Sanjay Suri. Then I shot another short film called Bungalow, a love story set in Kolkata.”Thankful for the kind of avenues that have opened up with the internet boom, the 39-year-old says, “Somehow, this online space has opened up to me in a good way, and people have been calling me. I’m getting roles I could never do in films, I have mostlydone 15-minute appearances there.”
