Ravi Dubey feels more excited about the ending of a show than its beginning
TV shows going off air abruptly or a character’s track ending without any prior notice are things that instil a sense of insecurity and uncertainty among actors. However, actor Ravi Dubey doesn’t feel anything of the sort. Instead, he feels more excited when a project he’s a part of is coming to an end.
“Not a single day in my career have I ever felt insecure about work. I feel more excited about the ending of a TV show than its beginning. Something coming to an end is always a good omen because it’s the beginning to something new,” says the 35-year-old actor.
Because of this, the actor has made a conscious decision to stay away from infinite commitment for a TV show. “I don’t know when my show would end. Once you’ve started the journey and you’re midway somewhere but don’t know the final point, your excitement tends to get diluted. I didn’t want to let that happen to me, and that’s why on the last day of Jamai Raja, I decided I wouldn’t be a part of an infinite show,” Ravi says.
Elaborating his point, he adds, “It always excites me when I’m reaching the final point. I feel every professional commitment is like a 100-meter sprint. The nearer you are to the finishing line, the more energy you put in. But you’ve to be able to see the finish line, which I don’t grasp in an infinite show.”
However, he says it isn’t about fiction or non-fiction shows. “It’s about getting into a space where, from the first day till the last, you work with the same intensity,” he adds.
