Varun hasn’t fallen in love in a very long time
Life is good for actor Varun Sharma, riding high on the success of his latest film Chhichhore. After shooting back-to-back for his films Arjun Patiala and Khandaani Shafakhana, he also has RoohiAfza with Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor.
While he doesn’t regret a packed schedule, Varun says, “I’m juggling a lot between films. Chhichhore was closest to my heart. There are four to five things that will keep me busy till next year. I’ve locked one project for 2020, too. I haven’t got a single day off for the past one year. The coming year also looks like that!”
Besides actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Chhichhore’s success has also been credited to Varun, who stole the show with his character Sexa in the film. And his popularity can be gauged from a video he shared on Instagram from Roorkee. In it, he’s shooting for RoohiAfza, and fans are cheering for him shouting his Fukrey character Choocha’s name.
Humbled by the love, the 29year old says, “It’s so beautiful that people are relating to me. My team made the video; I didn’t know about it. A boy dreams of getting into acting and a few years down the line, getting accepted is a feeling I can’t explain in words.”
Amid a rocking professional front, is anything happening on the personal (and love) front, as well? “A lot of people have been asking me about my love life,” he laughs, adding, “I’ve not fallen in love for a very long time. I’ve been so busy for the past one year, it’ll be tough for any woman to adjust. But I really hope love blossoms soon in my life. My mother also keeps asking me if I’m dating anyone, I say no, so she says, ‘Mujhe thodi pata chalega (if there is anyone)’. She’s a Punjabi mother, and wants to see me get settled soon. But there’s time, and I’m still in my 20s.”
