I don’t know how to capitalise on my successes, says Kirti Kulhari

Kirti Kulhari is enjoying a good run in her career. She has successful films such as Uri: The Surgical Strike and Mission Mangal to her credit, besides two hit web series. So now does it mean that the actor, who has so far taken things slow, will escalate the pace of her career? “I can’t capitalise on success. People have told me time and again but I do not know how to capitalise in the sense that how do I make hay while the sun shines? I have to go about my life and my work at my own pace and with my own understanding. I will not be like abhi mera accha time chal raha hai toh back-to-back work karte jau. I cannot do it,” says the actor.
And Kirti has a valid reason for not rushing things in her career as she feels it will affect the quality of work that she is doing. “I love what I do and that love is what people see on screen. People may not see me doing 10 films a year. But at least the films that I do are different and that’s because of the quality that I bring in. The quality will not show in my work if I am driven by the thought of how to capitalise on my successes,” she shares. The actor, who will be next seen in the Bollywood remake of The Girl on the Train as well as the second season of Four More Shots Please!, says she only believes in choosing projects that make her happy rather than blindly taking up whatever work comes her way.
“Some people can work 365 days a year, I can’t do that. I am just not capable of it. I do things driven by the right reason, not with the business side in mind. If I do that then it will mean that I am being driven by fear,” she concludes.
