The longest dosa to whet your appetite
Apopular South Indian dish, dosa is a delicious comfort food that you can eat for all meals. If aweinspiring culinary feats fascinate you then this might pique your curiosity. Keeping this in mind, the Ahmedabadbased Sankalp Group, twice entered Guinness Book of World Records by making 25 and 32-feet-long dosas in
1997 and 2006, respectively. Kailash Goenka, owner, says, “We as a brand were always interested in doing something novel and exciting. We started serving a four feet long dosa, followed by an eight feet dosa. Our next feat was a 16-feet dosa which got us a place in the Limca Book of Records.”
He adds, “We cracked the Guinness record in 1997 with our 25-feet long dosa. In the year 2006, we made a 30-feet long dosa in one of our outlets in Mumbai.” In association with the film Quick Gun Murugan (2009), the restaurant made a 32.5-feet long dosa and got the lead actor of the film, Rajendra Prasad, to promote the dosa alongwith the film.
Kailash says, “In 2013, our 53-feet long dosa was made by 32 chefs and around 300 kgs of gas was consumed to heat the long tawa in the process. Thirty kgs of ghee and 80 kg of dosa batter was used to prepare this dosa.”
Though it’s not possible to serve this 53-feet dosa at all the outlets of the restaurant across the world, it does serve the miniature version of the dosa at all its outlets. Its four feet long dosa is served in Delhi and Gurugram. Head to this dosa joint to have a good time with friends and family.
