From doing a cameo in Furious 7 (2015), to starring alongside Judi Dench in Victoria & Abdul (2017), and now all set to work with Gal Gadot in the adaptation of Death On The Nile, and also being part of an upcoming war drama, Ali Fazal is definitely on a roll. Content with the opportunities coming his way, the actor calls himself super lucky.

“The fact that these aren’t just random parts that I’m being offered is like the icing on the cake. I’m happy being considered for such films, and what can I say about the actors I’m getting to work with,” says an excited Fazal. Currently prepping for Death On The Nile, the 33-year-old is enjoying the process. Ask him about his first meeting with Gadot, and he beams with joy calling it a “wonderful experience”.

Ask him if he’s still in touch with Judi Dench , Ali says he can’t wait to meet her in person again.

“I’ll tell her about my new films when we meet next. We stay in different parts of the world, so whenever we meet, we sit and talk, but that does not happen quite often. In fact, along with Judi Dench, I plan to meet the whole team of Victoria & Abdul; I made some good friends while working on that film,” he adds.

Hollywood apart, back home, Fazal was recently seen in the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Prassthanam. Though the film didn’t impress at the boxoffice, the actor admits that he was “quite surprised” with how his character was praised.

“I never saw this coming. It was a multi-starrer, the story was good and I enjoyed being a part of the film. But when people mentioned about my part, I felt all the more happy. Often when a film misses the target, this doesn’t happen. So, such things do strengthen your belief,” he says.
